BANY Welcomes The Zimmermans
Bnei Akiva of New York is thrilled to welcome the Zimmerman family—Liad, Liron, Halel, Avia and Oz—as the new Regional Shlichim.
They live in Teaneck, New Jersey. Liad is the Regional Shaliach of Bnei Akiva New York and New Jersey and Liron is teaching Judaic studies at Yeshivat Noam. They are both involved with the Snif in Bnai Yeshurun.
The Zimmermans came here to develop Bnei Akiva in New York and New Jersey in tandem with the American Bogrim. They arrived in the summer of 2008 with ten other Shlichim spread out across the New York and New Jersey area, including Manhattan, Riverdale, Tenafly, New Rochelle, North Woodmere and Teaneck.
Liad over the past four years served as an administrator of an Israeli boarding school for girls called Ulpanat Tzfira,” where he was responsible for the both academic and extracurricular activities. Before that he studied in Yeshivat Tel Aviv for three years. Liad views this experience as the family’s first Shlichut, living in Tel Aviv and raising children there. He served as a tanks officer in the I.D.F.
Liron is an Industrial Management Engineer, who worked in a furniture factory before moving to AMIT, where she held a position in educational management.
Meet the Zimmerman kids:
Hallel, 7 years old, a 2nd grader in Yeshivat Noam.
Avia, 6 years old, a 1st grader in Yeshivat Noam.
Oz, 2 years old learning in Chabad Day care (in the summer he will have his Upsherin; stay tuned for details…).
“We wanted to be Shlichim since we first got married. It has been our dream for a long time and we are so happy that we have received this opportunity to serve here with Bnei Akiva of New York and New Jersey. We hope to meet as many people as we can and our house is always open for you. You should always feel free to call us or come visit. We are here for you!!!”
