Shabbaton Kenes Snifim

The Kenes Snifim shabbaton was all about Aliyah and Zionisim. Rav Yona Goodman arrived special from Israel in order to participate in this shabbaton.

The shabbaton consisted of about 80 participants – made up of Bnei Akiva alumnis, Manhigei Atid, Madrichim and Shlichim.
We were hosted by the people of North Woodmere, Long Island, a wonderful community of people.

Throughout the Shabbaton, Rav Yona spoke about the meaning of Torah Ve’Avoda. He explained the combination of the two and what it means to us – Bnei Akiva.

We spoke about Bnei Akiva from a chanich’s point of view; what they come with to sniff, and what they leave with.

…and of course: Aliyah, aliyah, aliyah…

People came from around the world to participate in this shabbaton, including: New York, New Jersey, Boston, Canada, Los Angeles, Baltimore and Israel.
Despite that we came from such different locations, we were all connected some how.

On Motzei Shabbat, after mifkad, and a few words from Rav Yona, the bogrim prepared a pe’ilut where we each received a disk on key, with educational information already installed on each one.

Shabbat was extremely successful; it strengthened and filled us all with joy. We were given the strength and enthusiasm to continue on with what we do.

Thank you all to those involved in making sure the Shabbaton would be a success.
