Sniffim : New Rochelle - Young Israel of New Rochelle

Main Page

Snif New Rochelle is a newborn Snif. In the very same year that Bnei Akiva celebrates eighty years of education and inspiration—with more than three hundred active Sniffim around the world—we decided it was time to have our very own Snif here in New Rochelle, New York.

We are located in New Rochelle, New York at the Young Israel of New Rochelle, a wonderful community of more than three hundred families and many potential Chanichim.

The Snif opened a few months ago with twelve amazing high-school aged Madrichim, along with four Shevatim (groups):

Nevatim boys: 3rd and 4th graders
Nevatim girls: 3rd and 4th graders
Ma’alot: 5th and 6th graders
Haro’eh: 7th and 8th graders

These varied groups meet every Shabbat afternoon, between Mincha and Maariv, for an hour of activities, education, fun, friends and candy. Lots of candy.

Additional activities for the Shevatim, as well as for the Madrichim and all high-school students, will occur throughout the year. Examples include a Friday night Oneg Shabbat for all high-school students and a movie night for 3rd through 6th graders.
